The Berliner collective Aambulanz is participating to ArtVilnius 21, the Baltic art fair from the 15th to the 17th
of Octobre 2021 at the Lithuanian Exhibition and Congress centre Litexpo. Aambulanz Kollectiv will be the
sole representative of Germany at the biggest visual arts event in the Eastern region.
Aambulanz Kollectiv was created in 2020 as a reaction to the cultural lockdown due to the pandemic. It
gathers Alex Tennigkeit, Kathrin Landa, Florence Obrecht, Wu Zhi, Axel Pahlavi, Alexej Tchernyi and Michel
Castaignet, seven artists based in Berlin who have at heart to maintain a physical link to the public through
non virtual exhibitions.
The Kollectiv has already made three shows in Berlin. Two secretive shows during lockdown as an act of
protest and one widely advertised and acclaimed when the lockdown eased in September 2021 at Atelierhof
Kreuzberg.
In Vilnius, Aambulanz Kollectiv will set up a multimedia show curated by Florence Obrecht including video,
shelter, life size sculpture and paintings. The show is called Somnaambulanz and stands as an allegory of the
waking of the cultural forces amidst adverse time.
